Saxophonist Anthony Cannon was born in St. Michaels, Maryland He began playing clarinet at age 9, and switched to the saxophone several years later.
He began performing at the local “open mic” -blues and jazz locations in the metro Baltimore & Washington DC area. In the late 1990’s he joined and performed with local bands along with 2 other traveling bands in Fullerton and Los Angeles California as a sideman saxophonist.
He primarily played Blues and top “ cover” tunes in the R&B and Rock/ Pop music genre In . 2005 he signed his first Saxophone Endorsement deal with the L.A Saxophone Company and now is a ranking endorsing with the Dakota Saxophone Company. He recently joined Theo Wanne Mouthpiece company as a performer on stage with some of best current smooth jazz artists -Nils – Cal Harris Jr-Super Jazz group DW3-Blake Aaron-Dee Brown and many others.
Mr. Cannon performs exclusively with Dakota Saxophone models including his custom designed Silver Plated Straight Alto Sax SDAS-1020S.
